May 2021 Prayer Letter

Partnerships

We are praising the Lord for all the amazing things he has done while we have been home. On Wednesdays we have visited different churches in the Springfield and surrounding areas. It has been a blessing to fellowship with these church families and share the work God has called us to in South Sudan. Not only have we been able to present at four churches, but had two of these churches take us on for monthly support. One of the churches even voted to give a financial gift to build a ministry house for us to call home in South Sudan. God is indeed good all the time!

Fellowship and Friendship

During our time home we were able to take part in Fellowship Week at Baptist Bible College. This was a great time of fellowship with missionary friends we had not seen in years. We were able to meet some of our supporting pastors and develop relationships with new churches. We were encouraged and challenged by all of the speakers. It was also a blessing to be part of missions Wednesday, where we not only celebrated the newly approved missionaries, but were inspired by those who received Globe Awards for fifty years of missionary service. The faithfulness of these missionaries to the field God has called them to is what Chelsea and I for strive as well.

South Sudan Update

We are so happy to share with you that South Sudan is re-opening! The church is able to open its doors once again to more than 10 people. The feeding center will open very soon. This means that we can share the gospel with the children and parents who come daily. Lastly, we are also excited that the secondary school is about to re-open. These students will receive not only an education again, but also a weekly devotional service where they can hear the gospel. Please pray for the health of the country, that the people will trust the Lord, and for opportunities to share the gospel with all who come.
