Spring is here and with that comes new creation and beauty. During the beginning of the month, we finished a Missions Conference in Ormond Beach, Florida at Harbor Baptist and then made our way to South Carolina for our last missions conference before heading home to await the arrival of our baby boy, Lincoln.

A great time at Capital City Baptist Church

We were truly blessed to be a part of Capital City’s Mission Conference this year! The conference began on Wednesday evening where we were all challenged to get involved with missions and faith promise giving. The next two evenings we presented to the church family our calling and mission to share the gospel in South Sudan. On Saturday the youth group created a world tour in trunk-or-treat fashion. Everyone walked around the parking lot to see videos created by the youth of missions in different parts of the World. The youth worked hard to share the need for the gospel all around the world as well as sharing the missionaries they support in these different regions. On Saturday evening Chelsea and I shared our testimonies with the youth and God’s calling in each of our lives. We wrapped up the conference on Sunday morning where I was able to preach during the Sunday School hour and Chelsea was able to teach the kids during children’s church. We are happy to say that this church took us on for support. They also loaded our vehicle with diapers, wipes, and gifts for Lincoln! They were such a blessing to us!

Meeting people right where they are

During the mission conference in Ormond Beach, we stayed at a hotel for the first few days. One evening when we were coming in a couple was so excited to see Chelsea’s pregnant belly. They told us congratulations and said this baby would be a special gift. We thanked them and then handed them a church tract which contained a gospel presentation. They accepted the tract with surprise saying that we were the third person they had talked to about God in the last two days. As we continued to talk, we heard about the struggles they were facing. They had been homeless for some time moving from place to place and wanted to get back on their feet. We used this opportunity to share the gospel with Melissa, but Jerry was too tired to talk with us. Melissa was very attentive and said that she had already done this, and she was thankful we were able to show her from the Bible how she can have assurance of her salvation. We ask for you to pray for Jerry because even though we did not get an opportunity to share the gospel, Melissa has a gospel tract which we encouraged her to read with him. God gives us amazing opportunities to meet people right where they are with the gospel!

South Sudan Update

The country is still in an official government lockdown. We are not sure when this situation will be readdressed, but we ask for continued prayers for the country, ministry, families, and leaders of the ministry (Mori and Peter). We are hopeful the country will open back up soon!
